Telephone Coordinators and Technical Contacts

General Information

Telephone Coordinators and Technical Contacts work closely with TNS staff. The "TCs" are area designates responsible for telephone and/or technical support in their area. We provide Excel and Adobe Acrobat PDF versions of the Telephone Coordinator and Technical Contact lists.

Use the contact list provided to become familiar with the people who are authorized to help you with telephone and computing matters. If you discover your area Telephone Coordinator or Technical Contact no longer functions in that capacity, please notify us, so TNS can update the list. Send an email notice at workreq@mail.sdsu.edu.

Telephone Coordinator Authority:  

The Telephone Coordinator submits requests for telephones added, moved, or changed; submits requests for add to/delete voice mail from a subscriber's service; troubleshoots problems related to telephones; submit requests for the creation and/or deletion of Long Distance Authorization Codes.

Technical Contacts Authority:

The Technical Contact submits requests for data connections added, moved, or changed; troubleshoots and reports network or software problems; and assists with changes that impact their area's use of computers and the networks that sustain communications.

 


Information for TCs

General Information

All TNS services require the completion of a Web form, which ensures that TNS has sufficient information to perform your request. For help in using the correct TNS Service Forms see the explanations below.

The Correct Form for Your Request

Use the Directory Updates Web form to change a directory listing.

Use the appropriate Voice Services Web form to request the following kinds of service:

  • Order a new telephone installation or move an existing telephone
  • Disconnect telephone and/or voicemail service
  • Add or change the level of telephone service
  • Order voicemail service
  • Request a Long Distance Authorization Code
  • Rent a conference telephone
  • Set up an ACD System
  • Have a new telephone jack installed
  • Report a problem with any aspect of your telephone service. If your telephone was working, but suddenly has no dial tone, try unplugging it from the jack on the wall, then plugging it back into the same port again. If there is still no dial tone, call 4-3500 for assistance.

Use the Network Services form to:

  • Add a new network connection
  • Move or remove existing network connections
  • Request a consultation (e.g. planning a computer lab, planning a departmental move)

To register a domain name, use the Domain Registration Web form, available through the IT Security Office (ITSO) Web site.
